Heatwave Treatment
ABOUT ALBANY PEST CONTROL’S HEATWAVE TREATMENT
Albany Pest Control’s Heatwave Treatment is designed for treatment against household pests such as bed bugs, dust mites, fleas, moths, and lice as well as viruses, bacteria, and fungal spores. This treatment uses a diathermic treatment capsule, which acts like a giant convector oven, allowing rugs, curtains, mattresses, beds, bedding, clothing, and soft furnishings (such as sofas and easy chairs) to be placed inside for treatment. The precise amount of heat and humidity required is automatically supplied and regulated throughout the process by a computer.
The Benefits of Heatwave
New legislation is now depleting the armory of products available to pest control companies and reducing the potency of others. It is now becoming apparent that some strains of the insect species have become resistant to these newer products, and are now physically capable of surviving an application. This then is where the knowledge of insect comfort zones becomes relative, if what would appear to be a growing imbalance of insect activity is to be brought under control.
A recent development in the application of heat, which applies the principle of physics as opposed to that of chemistry, is now proving to be an environmentally friendly and acceptable alternative.
Benefits of Orkin UK’s Heatwave Treatment:
- Disruption minimised. High efficacy, one process
- Time saving. Synchronised treatments save valuable time
- Non-toxic capability. Quick re-entry times, limited residue
- Quality Assured. Trained specialists
- Cost saving. Minimise disposal costs, mattresses, headboards etc
- Reputation protection. Faster resolutions on infestations
How Orkin UK’s Heatwave Treatment Works
It is a “non-pressured” thermal process that is contained within a thermal capsule, ensuring targeted temperatures are achieved. Heatwave provides treatment with high efficacy, reduced or no pesticide in some cases without causing any structural damage. Its application for infestation management applies to insects such as:

Argentine Ants | 54.5°C | 7 Mins |
Bed Bugs | 56°C | 1 Hour |
Bed Bug Nymphs | 56°C | 15 Mins |

The Treatment Cycle
Site Assessment
A Heatwave-qualified engineer assesses your individual needs and provides a treatment plan
Site Mobilisation
A helpful expert sets about clearing the area where the treatment process will take place. Removing items and ensuring sign off
Heatwave Process Initialised
Pre-Heatwave inspection carried out, the Heatwave target temperature set and initialised
Thermal Moderation
All external doors and windows are to be kept closed, allowing rehydration for strip downtime. The room is then vented after Heatwave is packed for rapid temperature moderation
Site Exfiltration
Targeted use of pesticide to the surrounding area, with Heatwave report provided. Room, area, and location can be back online within the day for immediate use
