We Are The Legionella People

Fully accredited Legionella risk assessments in Scotland

Our Legionella risk assessments in Scotland

The assessments we carry out are technical reviews comprising administrative checks and physical assessments.

We will complete administrative checks:

  • A full review of your current records and your previous assessments
  • A thorough consultation with all persons involved in health and safety on your premises
  • An overview of management procedures and the relevant paperwork
  • Risk level assessment of occupants of the building, focussing on age and health

And conduct a tour of your site:

  • A physical inspection of all of the water systems in your premises
  • Water temperature checks
  • An inspection of any place where aerosols have the potential to be created

Once this is completed, we generate a detailed Legionella risk assessment report which will be sent to you in PDF format. Our management regulatory compliance system collects, stores, analyses and communicates Health, Safety and Environmental compliance records on demand.

Why a Legionella risk assessment is essential

Under the Health and Safety at Work Act in 1974, a Legionella risk assessment is a legal requirement. Contaminated water droplets that are spread by aerosol are a danger to the health and safety of occupants and visitors to the premises.

The risk assessor must be fully competent and trained in line with current legislation, including ACOP L8, HSG274 and HTM 04-01 (Healthcare). This is why the safest thing you can do to ensure the risk of Legionella in your hot and cold water systems is controlled is to get a professional assessment.
